The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

The contact owned a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the cruise control was set to 60 mph when the side air bag suddenly deployed without warning. The contact was struck in the face. A bystander informed the contact that the vehicle suddenly veered off the road. The contact believed that they may have either blacked out or fallen asleep. The contact stated that the vehicle drove into a ditch. The driver's air bag located in the steering wheel failed to deploy and the driver's side seat belt failed to retract. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. A police report was filed. The contact received injuries to the face, arms, back, and chest. Medical attention was needed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000. Spoke w/ owner/driver of vehicle. Concern is with driver frontal air bag not deploying in this impact. I was in a car accident Feb 16 2017. Rear ended by a Ford Expedition. My airbag came on but didn't deploy. I hit my head hard and smoke was coming from the steering wheel. The car locks and unlocks on its own. It slows down to five miles an hour on the highway and then speeds up again. I never know what my life will be like in this [xxx] car. On may the airbag light started to come on once in a while. But the last 2 months the light does not go away. I took to the dealership and want to charge me $150 to just see it. The vehicle has 50,000 miles the minute I start the vehicle the air bag light comes out and does not go away until the vehicle is turned off. I just afraid that if I have an accident the airbags wont work or they might explode while I'm driving. I need to know what to do.
Takata recall my airbag light has been continuously coming on and off ever since I purchased the car about 3 months ago. I took it back to the place of purchase and was told that something was blocking the sensor under the seat which had been removed and I was told it was fixed but this light is still on. I don't feel safe in this car if I don't know if I have working air bags or not. The sunroof has also malfunction to where it would not open and close by pressing the button I have taken it to be fixed 3 times already. I feel like I am stuck in a death trap waiting to happen.
Ive been havng problems with my vehicle since I first purchased. The car slips gears and takes off and stagger while on highway. Ive made several attempts to have problem fixed by Chrysler. I was told that the transmission doesn't match with software and Chrysler is looking to fix issue in the future. Thecar feels really unsafe. After doing research, I also noticed that this car was sold to me way above price that was offered to others. I also feel that the contract is no longer valid as the car dealership requested a certain amount to pay off my trade in. I later found that the amount was nearly $300 less than the requested amount. I was told that any excess fund will be released to me. Its been over a year and I have yet to receive the refund.

Purchased vehicle 24 April 2017. After approx. 2 weeks the "service airbag system' message and airbag light on panel came on and went off after a few days. Called and spoke with dealership I purchased from and was informed that if it came on again to take it in to get checked. Came on again after another 2 weeks, scheduled appointment and the morning I took it in it went off. Came on again at the end of June which was another 2 weeks later and has been on since. First couple of time came on while driving, last time came on right after car was started. Car will also making a "jerky" acceleration motion while driving on highway and acts like it can't accelerate after coming out of a stop. Makes the "jerky" acceleration motion when pulling into driveway also. Did some research online and saw that others where having the same issues. I haven't had this vehicle a full 4 months.
I've only had the car 7-8 months. Got in it on August 17, 2017 and started it, a warning came on to have my arebags serviced. Checked owners manuel and it advised that the airbag system was maintenance free. Called dealership and was told no recall.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer (Wrangler Dodge in North dallas, tx) where it was diagnosed that the passenger side air bag sensor was faulty and needed to the replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.
Air bag warning light turned on every time the car started. I took it to prestige Chrysler and Dodge to see about it. While waiting on my ride to the enterprise there were other customers with the same complaint. After 2.5 days of waiting the vehicle was ready. I had to ask what the diagnosis /prognosis was and per devon my service advisor told me that there was something loose underneath the driver seat that caused the warning light lit. The part was replaced.
This car from the time I bought it haves issues when taking off it stalls doesn't want to take offor it will take off fast without really hitting gas it can cause an accident I've called they did a recall on it that causes that problem but it's still a problem or shuts off
I have had my Chrysler 200 for over a year now and when I drive and push pedal to accelerate and seems like it goes to neutral so engine revs and suddenly kicks into gear I am concerned that this will lead to a crash also today a light came on indicating to check passanger airbag. At this point I do not feel safe in my car and it is the only vehicle I own
The airbag service light came on I took it in to where I bought it and they said they had to reset it. It went off and 2 days later it came back on and never went off.. now it stays on. I was told there is no recall for my car. The transmission jolts when going from 2nd into 3rdwhile driving also. And my middle console the controls air and sound works when it feels like it.

I have a engine light on that is regarded to a active grill shutter. I have had the dealer look at it and they say the motor has gone bad and needs to be replace. Car has 47K miles on it!!!!!! nope not covered under warranty. Today I get in my car and my air bag light comes on and says to service air bag system. While driving the light will come on and go off about every 2 miles.
The passenger airbag alarm stays on and interrupts the info on the dash. The radio has turned up on its own and would not turn off even when the car was turned off and door opened. The engine constantly stalls especially when making a hard or fast turn or when braking hard. Sometimes jt cuts off when idling. It is always hard to get restarted, and requires several minutes of trying. The radio problems happen when stationary. The airbag light us constant during stationary and movement. The engine stalls happen mostly when deceleration or hard turns or braking. Sometimes a red light with lightenjng bolt appears on dash and the car will ride very rough until turned off and turned back
The vehicle is continuing to have these defaults as shown in pictures I'm experiencing more defaults in this vehicle and that I was told that there is no recall for chrylser cars and that I'm afraid of either getting hurt or someone else getting hurt maybe even killed due to these faulty issues that needs to be checking and that I don't have any kind of warranty on this vehicle.

The engine light continues to remain on while in drive mode the gear shifts remain to move accordingly #1#2#3#4#5#6#7#8 the transmission is starting to slip while in driving mode and that the airbags system is continued to blink on and off these are some of the bad defects that's happening as of now I'm afraid of really driving these vehicle due to faulty systems that may be more than a issue the problems started when in parking and drive mode.
