The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler PT CRUISER. The vehicle has Goodyear Eagle tires, size P/205/55/R16 with schrader valve stems, model TR413(na). While checking the air in the tires, the valve stem on the front driver's side tire failed halfway in the threaded area, which caused the tire to blow. Within the valve stem, the contact noticed green corrosion on each tire where the stem was located. The vehicle was towed to a local repair shop and the mechanic stated that the valve stem failed and caused the tire to blow. The valve stem has been replaced. The contact called the manufacturer and they stated that there were no recalls on the tire stem; therefore, he would not be reimbursed for the repairs. The failure and current mileages were 14,272.
