I have my vehicle serviced by the dealership every four months or so but the rusted out cross-member was just noticed for the first time yesterday. The mechanic advised me of the safety implications and the need to have this fixed.

The $3,050 to cover a manufacturing defect is a bit hard to swallow so I contacted Chrysler Customer Service today to find out if they could subsidize the cost. I was told that there is no funding available for this situation. The car is in otherwise great condition. I'm very surprised that after this issue has been the subject of several news investigations, including one on NBC 5 Chicago back in January of 2014, that nothing has been done to assist owners of these Chrysler vehicles. Ouch!

Took my car to replace the links in the wheels. The mechanic then told me the subframe that holds the engine in is rusted through. I've been a faithful Dodge/Chyrsler owner in the almost 20 yrs I've been driving. This is my only means of transportation for my job and my 4 children. I'm a single mom living paycheck to paycheck. I just purchased this car in February 2015. Chrysler needs to fix this issue free of charge. I love the pacifica but in this economy who can really afford $3500 to repair their car. If Dodge/Chrysler refuses to fix free of charge I will not buy another Dodge product again. This is unacceptable for manufacturers to do to loyal customers.

Have had the Pacifica for 9 years and have not had many problems with it. It was getting brakes done and the mechanic noticed the Engine Cradle Rot was extensive. It had holes you could put your fingers through. I am contacting Chrysler now to see what they will do to help repair this. There are a large number of complains online for this very issue and as of now, it looks like they are ignoring it.

After taking my 2006 Pacifica in for a routine oil change the representative showed me the extensive rust damage to my engine cradle and informed me that my engine could fall out of my car at any time. This is a potentially life threatening issue that Chrysler has yet to identify in the 2006 models. They have already admitted there is a defect in the 2004 and 2005 models as evidenced by the recall. Why not the 2006 models? I have proof with pictures that this defect exists, yet Chrysler has done nothing about it. Will it take the blood of myself or my 2 young children to drive some sense into Chrysler?

I am told by my mechanic that the "cradle frame" supporting the engine and transmission is rusted badly. The Chrysler Motor Corp should have a recall on this problem. Mine can't be the only one with this problem. It will cost over $1,000 to replace this item, there is no fix. The car as it is without repairing will not pass New York state inspection again! How does one make an issue known to the proper parties to open a recall issue? I love the car so I would rather not get rid of it right now.

I purchased a used 2006 Pacifica as is from dealer. When I went to have the car inspected, at the same dealership as I bought it from, they informed me that it would not pass inspection due to the engine cradle was almost rusted through. I was advised that the car was unsafe to drive. I understand the 'buyer beware' but I didn't anticipate a car under 10 years old, with less than 90K miles would require over $4,000 in repairs. This is almost as much as I paid for the car!!!

When I researched further about this problem, I was amazed at the number of other people having similar problems. I am a single mother and also work paycheck to paycheck, I do not have $4000 laying around to fix this. I am extremely disappointed in Chrysler, especially after we the tax payer paid our hard earned money to help bail them out. We were there for them, but they sure are not for us. It's a crappy product and I will never again buy a car 'American' made. I am afraid to drive this car with my daughter, but don't have much of a choice as I can't sell it like it is. I have more integrity than both the dealership and Chrysler. I feel that Chrysler should have to own up and make this right before someone gets killed.

Just took my 2006 Pacifica today for a routine annual NYS inspection and oil change and was told that it is not would not pass inspection due to severe rotting of the main motor cradle that supports the motor. (Pics attached). I was totally shocked as the car has never been a problem in any way and shows no rust any where else on body!? However the mechanic showed me underneath and the cradle is shot while most other under carriage components are better than acceptable.

I then drove car straight to local Chrysler dealer and was told that they could do nothing but give me a $4400 estimate to repair/replace the cradle. The service manager did say that this is a known issue by Chrysler and encouraged me to call them direct. I then called Chrysler right from the dealership and after the rep reviewed my concern, I was told they could do nothing for me!.....So I now own a hunk of metal worth nothing due to the fact that the motor could drop out of car at any moment and has No, I mean NO resale possibility!!!

The cradle rot is the ONLY thing that is wrong with this car but now I am forced to junk it cuz I can't afford the $4400 repair bill! and all mechanics that have looked at it say that it very unsafe to continue to drive it as the motor can fall out of the car at any time!!! CHRYSLER MUST MAKE THIS RIGHT FOR ME AND ALL PACIFICA OWNERS LIKE ME!!!
