: the contact stated faulty vacuum hose from engine's internal vacuum pump to the power brake unit. Under light continual pressure on brake pedal the vehicle would stop. Under sudden or heavy pressure, the pedal would go to the floor, and vehicle would stop when it decided to do so. It would not lock or make an emergency stop. Visual confirmation of the vacuum hose collapse. Was easy with hood open, engine operating, and pressure applied to the brake pedal. Updated 06/05/2006.
