NHTSA recall 01-V-037-000/ manufacturer's recall 970 consumer's contacted dealer the second time regarding recall repairs, and dealer had to order the part. Part ordered first time was used for another vehicle. Dealer has yet to contact consumer about reordering part.
Throttle cable become frayed and stuck. Consumer has been informed that vehicle was not a part of any recall. Consumer states that the cable is frayed where it enters the outer housing near the injector pump.
Driving on the freeway I lost throttle control. The throttle linkage had fatigued and ruptured at a ball joint. There was an immediate reduction in speed, resulting in me having to coast to the shoulder.
The throttle linkages fell off the vehicle, allowing the vehicle to return to idle and there was no acceleration in the vehicle with application of the gas pedal. Vehicle has been fixed.
