This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The throttle linkage is a recall. I took it to douglas chrystler Jeep Dodge Ram dealer in venice, fl and they said they couldn't help me because the recall had already been performed once. Seeing that it is a safety recall I was under the impression that they would take care of it but when I called they said they can only replace a recall item once. Vehicle lunges forward when I am at a stop light and idles high.
I own a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500, I have noticed this problem on multiple Dodge and read about it on the internet, the front lower axle mount rots out due to poor design leaving nothing to hold the spring in place my coil mount is rotted out and there is barely any left of it, and Dodge nor do any auto part stores sell coil mounts to replace it the mount is welded directly on the axle so the axle housing would need to be replaced, this is very unsafe if the axle were to give out dew to this.
I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel which I bought in 1999 and in May 2001 the dash cracked. I bought a new one but the dealer wants $400 to install it. I understand there is problem with the dashes in these trucks. And a recall is pending.
The dash board on my truck is cracking and I am very concerned with the air bag being rendered useless as a result of this and also the dangers to myself and possible passengers due to the broken pieces of dash being thrown around in the event of an accident.
1998 Dodge Ram 2500 24 valve cummins diesel dash board cracking severely, anti lock brakes not functioning properly, overdrive locking and unlocking around 45 mph. After trying several remedies.

The consumer was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign. The vehicle collided with another vehicle on the side and repeatedly flipped over. The pickup separated from the frame and both landed in separate directions. The passenger was ejected from the vehicle. Neither driver or passenger were wearing seat belts. Both sustained injuries.
I have had the steering damper replaced several times. It is unknown to me why this happens and the dealer has no answer either. All the components on this vehicle are "heavy-duty". braking is becoming more of a problem as the brakes wear down. The truck only has 21,000 miles on it. The power door locks I have no idea about they just stopped working one day, but, they do work w/ the remote entry. I also noticed the horn actuator is hard to activate due to the hard "leather" for the airbag cover. The driver's door keeps getting missaligned, I have never heard of a vehicle having this much of a problem like it.
Fuel pump had to be replaced due to engine dying out. Engine check light came on & then died out. Had fuse replaced due to blowing out constantly. Engine & catalytic converter affected.
Ram 2500, our 12 year old son was riding in the back seat of this extended cab pickup truck and was securely fastened into the 3-point seatbelt behind the driver's seat. When we hit a large pothole, his head snapped back and hit the glass rear window. There is no head restraint or head protection of any kind for the rear seat passenger. He suffered a mild contusion. If this was a more severe episode, or an accident, the injuries would have been severe. We need to have head restraint protection made available to us for rear seat passengers immediately. This is a very dangerous situation that we were unaware of when we purchased this vehicle. Our dealer tells us there is nothing available through Chrysler to fix this problem.
I was hit head on by a drunk driver on October 23, 1998, and my air bag failed to deploy. I had turned the pasenger side off, bu the driver's side did not deploy.
