Driving down road and hood flew open on my 2001 Dodge 2500. Hood and latches bent back obstructing view completely. Traffic was light on a usually busy road which prevented further problems.
The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving at an unknown speed, the hood latch failed. As a result, the hood flew backwards and nearly shattered the windshield. The dealer stated that he may not have closed the latch properly; however, the contact disagrees. The vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 79,000.
My hood was not latched fully @the local dealer after service. I proceeded onto highway and it popped open....secondary latch didn't catch it properly.
Driving down rural road the hood popped up blocking my view. I could see the side of the road under the open hood and pulled over hood has not been replaced yet.
The hood on my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 has unlatched and flew back hitting the windshield while driving twice over the last few years damaging the hood and hinges.
