The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 quad St/slt. He purchased the vehicle in December of 2006. During a routine wheel alignment appointment, the mechanic could not complete the alignment since the front wheel bearings were defective. In June of 2009, he heard a noise coming from the left front wheel. The mechanic confirmed that the right and left wheel bearing and axle joints needed to be repaired. The warranty has expired. The estimated repair cost was $1,100. The vehicle will be repaired with after market wheel bearings and a drive axle U joint. The manufacturer will be notified. The contact experienced identical failure with a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 quad St/slt which he thought was due to the tires. The failure and the current mileages were 56,000.
