I was driving on I-90 when the steering started shaking. After slowing down below 35mph it went away. This happened everytime speed went above 50mph. Took truck to dealer in ephrata and they replaced tie rods, pitman arms and steerage linkage/damper at a cost of $1200.

I turned the steering wheel and felt a thump. Kept happening for a week so I decided to take it in to Chrysler and have it looked at. Service informed me that the lower intermediate steering shaft needed replaced. The U=joint on the shaft was worn out, and needed replaced. This also happened on another Dodge Ram truck I own, but this truck is a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. Cost is $395 plus tax/supplies to repair.

I bought an extra clean 07 2500 4/4 megacab 6.7 in June of this year. Had upper and lower moog ball joints, tie rod ends and rods where needed, plus new damper at 169K mi. Put a set of new shocks on the other day, truck is factory height, but has 285S instead of 265S.just today it went into a death wobble on a wet concrete interstate after hitting a very small pot hole on left. I was runnin about 70 and [xxx] near lost it. Luckily there was nothing on shoulder cause I couldn't keep it in my lane. Thank god my wife or daughters weren't driving! help!! I dread testing it again after someone claims to have fixed it, since it took 6 mos. To show up and only seems to happen at dangerously high speeds. First incident occurred while traveling South on I15 while towing a 28 foot travel trailer, with my wife and children, that I had pulled several times previously with no issues. We drove over a rough patch of the interstate, and the truck began to shake violently. Thinking that the trailer lost a tire, I fought the steering to get the truck to the shoulder. Once stopped, I went immediately to the trailer and found no problems, I then crawled under the truck and found no problems. We continued on our way, not knowing what happened, and didn't have another occurrence for awhile. Another occurrence happened on I84 while traveling West between bliss and mountain home, with my two children in the car, again traveling the speed limit, and as the truck crossed an expansion joint. At that time, other than the violent steering shake, it felt like the truck was bucking, like the rear tires were coming off the ground. It has happened once or twice since then, same scenario, freeway expansion joints cause the shake to start, pulling over and slowing down to 20-30 mph gets it to stop. I had researched the problem online and found it was a fairly common problem, that Dodge won't take responsibility for. I took the truck to the dealer I purchased the truck from and asked them to check it out before the warranty ran out. They told me there wasn't anything wrong, but they could install "upgraded" steering components for $1000. I then emailed Dodge, with no resolve. Now, on July 12th, 2013, while traveling East with three friends, on either I86 or I15 towards jackson, wy, the shake occurred 3 times in an hour! needless to say, we all lost confidence in the safety of the truck for the rest of the trip. Each time in occurred, it was a rough spot, or transition on the freeway. Every bump we all held our breath, the trip home, we went a different way to avoid as much freeway as possible.

I have owned this truck from day one. 2007 Ram 2500 4X4 quad cab 5.9. 50,000 miles. Truck has been pulling to the right for a while. I took vehicle in for alignment at dealership. They set it to specs. Brought it back about 40 days later to realign, still pulling to the right. Service advisor said that I needed to buy an offset ball joint in order for them to get more adjustment and to correct alignment at a cost of $622. Said that this is common problem. I called & emailed Dodge/Chrysler asking why I would have to buy a part to correct a stock factory item. They called dealership to verify problem and told me what the dealership said it needed and that was all. Consumer shouldn't have to buy aftermarket parts to fix a stock item.

Upon arriving at dealership to have truck checked out, truck was moved forward about 25 ft and pitman arm "broke"...had dealership repair pitman arm at a cost of $185.11 and once I got home I researched and found out they was a recall on these pitman arms.I called the company up and was instructed to mail them the "broken defective arm" tracking number [xxx] through usps on 03/16/13 at a cost of 10.40...usps lost the arm so superlift suspension systems 300 huey lenard loop West monroe, la 71292 says they will only pay half the bill"?? it was a defective arm so why do I have to pay half??? they are lucky I didn't get killed!!! im a disabled vet on disability and fill I should not have to pay any of this repair bill..can someone please help?"
