Very dangerous wheel shake. I believe it will lead to a crash if the problem gets worse.

Ram 2500 V6 Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,200 miles

Driving to York, PA on the Baltimore Beltway (695) when I ran over a couple of bumps on the road. This threw my truck into a violent wobble causing the steering wheel to shake uncontrollably and the truck was bouncing all over the road like a jumping jack causing me to get thrown onto the shoulder almost striking the guardrail. The speed limit is 55MPH on this road. I was doing 60 MPH when this Death Wobble occured. The cars around me kept clear of me when they saw this happen.

This is the third time in less than one week. There should certainly be a recall on this as I am sure it will cause damage to the suspension and/or steering.

Update from Aug 25, 2013: The mileage was 16200 not 116200.

- Lee F., Pocomoke, MD, US
