Ram 2500 Big Horn 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Truck stalled in the middle of a busy rotary with my 7 month old daughter in the back seat. No prior warnings, no sputtering or sounds. Just died. Turned the truck on and back on and worked like normal. Now I don't trust driving it. Most likely the TIPM that caused this issue. This should be recalled. We could have been badly injured due to this!

Ram 2500 ST 6.7L Cummins

  • Manual transmission
  • 97,353 miles

The truck wouldn't start, even though both batteries had sufficient charge. The windshield wipers moved with every turn of the motor, even though they weren't turned on.

The fact that the TIPM on this model hasn't been recalled is appalling to me. The thought that the airbags could deploy at any minute, or that my windshield wipers could stop working (in Oregon, mind you) at any time is a horrible thought. These parts should have been non-corrosive connectors, given the centrality of their purpose.

Ram 2500 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission

Saturday 7/9/16 was bring home motor home from shop after paying $5,000 to have it inspected and worked on,

went to move truck and it would not start. Kept cranking but no start. Had to wiggle motor home around it to park it. Not easy wiggiling a 40' motor home around. No service dept open on Saturday so waited till Monday. Had to have the truck towed to dealership. I thought the warranty or extended warranty thru Chrysler would cover it. Later that day the service dept called and told me my TIMP Module needed replaced and that no warranty would cover it because it was corroded. The module would cost $1000 plus labor plus towing to get it fixed. Didn't really have a choice but to get it fixed and try to fight with Chrysler. Then I saw your website and realized this is not a random problem but a widespread problem that should be addressed and Chrysler should recall and replace.

Iam not very impressed that this issue is not a recall..nobody has controll over moisture under hood of vehicles, so why is this product made to corrode. whats to say another couple years the same thing is not going to happen again at the expense of the owner.

Ram 2500 6.7L

TIPM was listed as not covered under warranty and crysler decided not to honor electrical parts even though it was clearly stated that it was covered.
