CarComplaints.com Notes: Say what you will about the styling of the Ford Edge, but the bottom line is owners seem to love this vehicle. That is, of course, except in the case of it's dangerous, worrisome and unexplained issues with random engine stalling.
Our data suggests an early defect trend, as owners of the 2007-2008 models have started posting their accounts of what happens when you're driving down the road and the engine just stops. Some at high speed, some at low speed but always a random shutdown of the engine, electrical and power steering.
Time will tell if this becomes a widespread issue, but there's no drying the seriousness of the problem. With that in mind, we're flagging the Edge with our "Beware of the Clunker" rating until the situation improves.

Takata recall. I have received many notices from Ford directly about this problem since about the first of this year and have not heard back from them concerning replacing the air bag in question. I have called on numerous occasions and have been told I will be contacted they do not have the necessary part(s) yet?

Takata recall. Currently waiting for this to be fixed. At this time it is not safe to drive the car and cannot sell it to purchase another car. This has taken far too long to fix. Putting today's date since my last update was the rent a vehicle. We live in an extremely small rural area and that is not an option
Takata recall Ford is not taking care of this problem in a timely manner. I bought my car 5 days before the recall and have been unable to use it to its potential. Ford has continuously told me to check back in a couple weeks and has refused me a loaner vehicle that can be safely driven.

My dealership called me for my airbags to be replaced 9/25//18 @ 11am. The Ford company stated that the parts were not available. This company continues to misinform customers with their deceptive tactics. I have not received a letter stating that the parts are available from the Ford company. How can the customer make sure they are having the airbag recall replaced?

I was first notified in 2016 of a recall with directive that no one should ride in the front passenger seat. To date, I've yet to be called in to have this matter repaired, that said, asking a car owner to not be able to use every seat in their vehicle for more than 2 years is beyond the pale. Please advise me when I might expect this repair to be completed.

We got a safety recall notice 16S26 recall 16V-384 since July 2016 and till now they never repair our car, every time we call them they keep saying they don't have the parts yet and they will email us when they have it and till today date they never did anything. Since that date we never use the front seat so we can't utilize the full capacity of our car. This is very disappointing and inconvenient for us, besides we don't feel safe while driving our car, we are asking Ford for immediate repair and compensation for all the suffering of this recall issue
