CarComplaints.com Notes: A frustrating electrical issue is causing an ever-present “door ajar” warning light for 2011-2013 Ford Edge owners. Even with the doors latched shut, faulty sensors convince the vehicle’s computer they aren’t. With no way to override the system, owners have no choice but to stare at the warning light, listen to the warning chimes when the car is stopped, and deal with interior lights that won’t shut off.

Edge SEL 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

Bought this Edge in March. Late April was the first episode with the MyTouch screen acting up. Since then I have pulled the fuse 4 times and miraculously the screen re-set and returned to normal. After the last episode, NOTHING. Ford is sorry for the inconvenience, but the FSA 12mo2 has expired and we are on the hook to fix. My wife is not happy about not having the heated seats come this winter, that was a huge selling point for her. Car Tech SUCKS!

While the backup camera is a luxury, I purchased the car because of the bells and whistles. The mechanic said these go out all the time. He didn't even have to look up the price because they had just replace several the day before.

Rear Camera View fails to work

no guide lines, u/inverted image and loss of signal resulting in error message. Replacing camera partially fixes, have to engage dealer to try and repair settings for zoom & guide lines. Multiple trips and seems to be trial by error approach. MySync FW was up to date at time of camera replace. Fuse 29 pull and NEG batt procedure followed but no luck. This should be a "user" fix vs. having to go to mechanic. poor design

dashboard screen illuminating when car off

I have a 2012 Ford Edge and the dashboard screen lights up at night after the car has been turned off. It did it so much without us knowing that it drained my battery. The mileage will be the only thing you can see on the dashboard. Dashboard works fine when the car is on.
