I bought this 2003 ford escape ,PEACE OF JUNK last september 2012. it worked like a charm best drive, good milllage , Until january 2012 and it doesn't want to work in the freezing cold only thing it does is reves up to 4000 rpm, pretty scarry when your doing 100 km on the highway, going out off town to have my escape rev so hight, put it in neutral... coast to side of road put brakes on ,escapes still moving ,felt like the motor was going to jump out from under the hood ,put in park only way to stop it , the the engine rev even more shut it off...... brouhgt it to the garade january 2012, they said it was air flow sensor,, so they fix it...NOT .... so august comes around and news of the recals comes out about the wire sticking on the cruise controle box causing it to exclerate on it's own.... ford fix it so we though yes this might of been what was wrong with jeep, it work good until the cold started again...NOW IT'S FREEZING COLD IN JANUARY 2013.....no need to guess... it's still doing the same thing revving up to 5000 RPM or more i was driving it this time not my Husband..... no flippping wonder he didn't want our daughter to drive this peace of CRAP she would of not of been able to stop it.... it scared the crap out of me the SUV was reving at 5000 + RPM the morning i had it ... bring it to ford... the second time this week , cause monday it was reving so low it was almost stalling on us 225$ cn later two new spark plugs and a clean throttle body.. this is what was probaly causing it to run at 5000 RPM the mechanique says..... NOT..Now it's friday january18,2013. in the garage FORD calls to ask us when we did last oil change ... sticker in the window just did it in dec 2012, ok well your suv is full of SLUDGE... Why and How was my husband answer, well the mechanic says it could be from condensation, parking in a garage, or short distance of driving or not doing oil change, or leave idle .... well none of those are what we do... so 400$ can later they cleaned the sludge, replace pvc valve , unfroze the air filter again. Husband picks it up garage says it's fix...in my mind i'm thinking this is not over yet.. but the garage says it fix... NOT... It's january 22,2013.....another freezing morning and my SUV is reving at 5000+RPM .......i need answer's ... is this a recal... or neglect from ford... anyone else having this problem
