CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.

This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.

The 2014 Escape has been operating as expected. Essentially all highway driving for the 7500 miles. Average gas mileage is about 23.5 overall, maximum to day is 31, and city 19. Good acceleration. MySync is a pain, and overall complicated.

The noise in the rear partially diminished when tires were rotated with slight indications of cupping, less than 100 miles ago. Noise is returning after one week. All indications of rear suspension problems!.
