Car drifted forward at intersection. I applied brake but car continued forward. No crash avoidance notification. I hit another car at a slow rate of speed because I could not stop my car. I will have to take car in for another repair.

Explorer XLT 2.3L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

I was driving at a very slow speed, say 15 to 20 mph, and we were coming up to a yellow light so I started to brake but had no brakes. I had two car lengths in front of me and I hit the car in front of me that was also moving (but they had brakes) since I could not stop. I hit the car a second time and then I was trying to turn left to get out of the way since the lane on my left was open. Had severe car damage but no injuries - it was the first time in my life I had no brakes - scary. The price tag to fix the damage is at $16,000. I have read other complaints online about intermittent brake problems with the Ford Explorer. Mine is a 2020 Ford Explorer (1-17-22 date of accident).
