I took my truck in for service due to the engine light coming on. Reading the manual the engine light would come on for many reasons, so even though there were no apparent problems with the way the engine was running I decided to take the truck in rather then risk damage to the engine or engine emission parts.

I was told at the end of the day that the dealer would need to keep my truck until the 18th of January, when they expect to receive a new intercooler to install!!! I explained to the dealer that I could not go a month without my truck! I use the truck for work and play and a full month would be more than just a inconvenience. Of course this did not seem to be of any concern to the dealer since they would be providing a service loaner for me to drive - a Ford Focus!!! Now for all of you that drive trucks you know what it's like when you are forced to drive a small car. If a car was what I needed a car is what I would have bought - not a $45,000 truck!!

I can not believe that it is going to take a full month for Ford to deliver a new intercooler to the dealer unless this is a common problem with the eco-boost engines and Ford is trying to catch up on manufacturing replacement parts.
