Throttle body issues have led to a ton of reports about a sudden deceleration and loss of power while driving. Ford issued a “customer satisfaction program” in March 2014 that, unsurprisingly, has left very few customers satisfied.

2010 is also the year we started seeing complaints about the power steering failing. Throttle and steering failure? Yeah, that’s why this is a clunker.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to slow the vehicle properly. The contact desperately depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the mechanic replaced the brake parts, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic again and the brake line and the braking system was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed, and the contact was advised to contact NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 73,000.
