I was driving on the freeway and the car jerked I tried to give it gas and it wouldn't go anywhere had to pull over on the side of highway and turned the car off and it worked fine I hooked a code scanner and trouble code P2111 popped up throttle body stuck open..

I was traveling on the interstate at highway speed. Traffic had slowed alittle so I began to slow as well. When I pressed the accelerator nothing happened. The wrench light came on the dash. I had no control over the acceleration of the car. After almost being taken out be a semi I was able to get the car off to the side of the interstate. The car was idling very rough. I shut the car off and waited a few seconds. I restarted the car and the light was off. I was able to drive home with no more problems. Seems that Ford has a major issue. I thing they should be made to recall these cars before someone gets killed.

I was traveling North on I-75 at about 65-70 mph, when all of a sudden I lose power, as though the car's not getting any gas. Nothing happened when I tried to continue accelerating. I coasted it off the interstate, I was in the far right hand lane, so I was able to do this rather easily. When the car stopped, it began shuddering and shaking, idling very rough. The little wrench light came on. When I got my wits back as I was in a panic being 156 miles away from home, and still 800 miles away from my destination, I tried to continue driving because I couldn't tell where I was at. The car crept along extremely slow, but I was able to get close enough to read the sign, I was half a mile from the altoona rd emerson exit 283. I turned the car off to call someone. After a few minutes of multiple dropped calls, I tried to start the car, and it did. I was able to drive it to the exit and as I was approaching the stop sign at the end of the off ramp, it stalled. I tried again and was able to get it into love's truck stop. I ended up having it towed 156 miles back home. It's sitting in my yard, I haven't done anything yet with it, I'm too disgusted as I just bought it a month ago, and have been reading numerous incidents just like mine. And where Ford doesn't seem to care enough about the people buying their product. I'm paying a lot of money for a car that I no longer trust. My husband took it to one of those auto stores no code could be read. I can say with certainty that had I been further up in one of the bigger cities in heavier traffic and out in the center lanes, it would not have been good. It seems to me, that it's a no brainer, a recall verses a criminal negligent suit. Because it's only a matter of time..

I was driving on the highway at about 70 mph. The car suddenly shut down and started coasting. Pressing the gas pedal did nothing. The throttle control/transmission warning light came on. I coasted off of the highway and turned off my car. I turned the car back on, warning light was gone, car drove fine the rest of the way to my destination. Next morning the exact same thing happened. Stopped at an auto repair shop. They could not diagnose the problem. Got back on the highway and made it to my destination without incident.

On 8/2/2013, I was driving on I-68W near rocky gap, md. While driving down the mountain, the car's rpms jumped up to 4000 rpms from its normal 2000 rpms. I tried applying the brakes and pumping the gas to try to get the car to operate normally. After 30 or 40 seconds, the car returned to 2000 rpms. This repeated a couple times over the next few minutes. Eventually, I was going up a mountain, when the car's rpms dropped to 1000. The car decelerated and I was able to pull safely over to the shoulder. The amber wrench symbol was lit. I let the car sit for a few minutes then started it back up again. At this point, the car worked normally but acceleration was somewhat sluggish. When I returned home, I checked to see if any vehicle error code were present. None were. Initially, I thought the car wasn't used to the mountain driving. A few days later, I was driving along md-100W (a very flat road) and then pulled into a local shopping center. While driving through the parking lot, the car lost power. I immediately hooked up a code reader and got a P2112. I googled this error code and it seems to be a very common problem with Ford Fusion. If this lose of power occurred at the wrong time, it could easily cause a bad accident.

Tool light comes on and engine light as well. Many other incidents have occurred and finally after several attempts to figure out what was the issues the mechanic had a code od P2111 throttle body system was the cause. Very dangerous and what is worse the car tests itself and makes the issues go away for a short time.

When the vehicle wa restarted it ran fine. However it continues doing this. The dealer says the throttle unit ($600) needs replaced this after the transmission was just replaced. We called the Ford customer service it took three weeks for their representative to return the call and he had the nerve to ask "what did we expect him to do"? with the web the companies can no longer lie the dealer and Ford first stated it was the first they heard of this, yet there are lawsuits everywhere.

Driving at relatively low speed - 25-30 mph - and car lurched to slow speed - could not accelerate at all. Had to pull over to side of road, turn vehicle off and restart. Drove 50 yards and problem recurred. It continued to happen, fortunately not on the highway until I called the Ford dealer. Had to have the vehicle towed because I did not want to take it on the highway. Dealer wanted to charge me over $500 for repair as vehicle was 3 months out of 36 month warranty. I researched online and found that this is a problem with the "throttle box" which the dealer should have been well aware of. Dealer did "assisted" me with cost of repair - charged me $50. The repair should have been free. Ford needs to issue a recall before someone is killed.

Traveling down the highway at 70mph using cruise control, when the wrench symbol appeared on the dial and the car slowed way down and would not accelerate. We were able to pull to the side of the road, turned off the engine, waited a few minutes to restart and were able to drive away at normal speeds. This happened two more times within the 2 hour trip. We scheduled an appointment with the dealership and were told the problem was the throttle body and that it had to be replaced, but there were no parts available in the entire country and the part was on back order until perhaps 2 months. We were told this is a fairly common problem, but there was no recall forthcoming. I believe this is potentially a life-threatening problem that should be addressed by the company. I'm getting my car back from the dealership because I need transportation and have not been offered a loaner for the duration of the time it will take to get the new part. I will be living in constant fear that the problem will recur and I could be left stranded on the side of the road at some point when the car will not reset.

Speed was approximately 75 mph.

I was driving my morning commute doing about 65 mph on the interstate when there was a clunking type noise from the engine and then the car just would not accelerate. I was able to pull over to the shoulder, put it in park and turned it off. I then restarted the car and it drove just fine. I took it to the dealership that morning and after having the vehicle all day I was told they could not find anything wrong and just reset the computer because they said there was probably a malfunction with the computer that sent a signal to the engine which caused this to happen. That cost me $103 to just reset the computer. Then 4 days later it happens to me again while driving about 60 mph on a highway. I did the same thing by putting it in park, shutting if off and then restarting it. At that point I decided to drop it off at the dealership for them to check the next morning beings it was after hours and they obviously did not fix the problem the first time. On the way to dropping it off at the dealership it happened again while getting on the interstate. I guess we will have to wait and see what lame excuse they come up with this time.

This solved the problem temporarily. This happened to me three times the rest of my way home. Without warning the light comes on and you have no acceleration. I'm being told it could be the throttle body.
