CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.
The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.
And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

Dear sirs, my vehicle suddenly showed "power steering assist fault" while I driving on the street. And steering column locked. I immediately slow down and pullover the roadside. After this, steering column can be turned, but very hard and only within a narrow angle. Therefore I go online to check, and found out my Ford Fusion 2011 should be under "NHTSA safety recall no. 15V340000 - loss of electric power steering assist.(power steering control module (pscm) failed)" please check my VIN [xxx], it should be under "Ford's recall list". thanks for your help and hope can get your reply soon! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
2011 Ford Fusion recall. I had the recall competed on my Ford Fusion for the steering gear. Within 6 months, my steering gear locked up again while I was driving on the interstate. Ford refuses to do another recall on this part. They said it is my responsibility to pay to have this done now since I have already completed one recall. They will not pay for 2 steering gear recalls. How is it my responsibility when apparently they didn't fix it right the first time.

The steering wheel has become hard to manuever and makes a noise especially on left turns. Problem is progressively getting worse.there is a current recall for this problem, and my Ford dealer refuses to cover the fix because it has over 100,000 miles.

I was never contacted about any recalls. My mother contacted me through email to see if I knew about the airbag recall. 2 recalls I only learned about today by checking my credit report because the Agency that holds the title reported my account for non-payment. I recieved a carfax report when I purchased the vehicle August 2017 from drivetime. I was told there were no recalls on the vehicle. Now, I am seeing 4 recalls, 2 of which (2014 & 2016) have appeared only now that the vehicle is being serviced. I was probably the only idiot in America that would have bought the high-mileage, over-priced vehicle in the 1st place. I was told it had been a fleet vehicle for a rental car Agency. I thought I was getting a safe vehicle. But my feeling now, is that it should have never been sold. I'm not sure what to do. The vehicle may get repossessed and I am feeling cheated. I sent the car to the 1st auto body shop and they wanted $1470 for all the repairs. I called Ford Motor Company, they told me the car could get repaired free of charge at an authorized Ford dealer. I had the car towed to the 2nd shop. The car has been at that dealership since February 1st. My estimate is about $260. I'm not sure what I'm expecting to happen, but I attached a photo of the fuel overflow hose leaking fuel even when the tank was not full. It would do this regularly and that is 1 of the 2 new recalls that appeared. I'm scared to drive this car. I just want some reliable answers and solutions before I shell out any further money on a car that has put me, my family and other people at risk. Please help. Thanks in advance.......

My fiance went to start the care to go to work and the power steering assist failure and service advancetrac warnings were on. She couldn't even turn the steering wheel. If she had been driving with our 2 year old son in the cat they could have been killed. There are many others that I have found with the same problems why had this not been recalled, serious injury or death could occur. Then there would be multiple lawsuits
