Summary
THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THAT HAVE ACCESSORY OFF ROAD LIGHTS INSTALLED FROM THE DEALER. NOW AFTER THE INSTALLATION THE LIGHTS ARE INOPERATIVE. TECHNICIAN WILL NEED TO VERIFY THE ENGINE IS RUNNING AND THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON AND THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS AND THE SWITCH HAS BEEN PRESSED FOR 3 SECONDS. ALSO INSURE THE COVERS ARE NOT INSTALLED ON THE OFF ROAD LIGHTS. TECHNICIAN WILL NEED TO VERIFY THE BODY CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING. VEHICLES WITH REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CODE S3X THE BODY CONTROL MODULE IS PROGRAMMED FOR THE LIGHTS. FOR VEHICLES THAT DO NOT HAVE REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CODE S3X TECHNICIAN TILL NEED TO CALL TECHLINE CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTER FOR PROGRAMMING ASSISTANCE. TECHNICIAN SHOULD TEST THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH TERMINAL 6 FOR SYSTEM VOLTAGE. IF NO VOLTAGE PRESENT O TERMINAL 6 CHECK THE BODY CONTROL MODULE X1 TERMINAL 12 FOR THE PROPER INSTALLATION. REPAIR AND TERMINAL DAMAGED OR NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY. THEN REMOVE BODY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR X5 AND APPLY VOLTAGE TO TERMINAL 5, IF THE LIGHTS NOW ILLUMINATE IT IS LIKELY THE INCORRECT TERMINAL HAS BEEN USED IN THIS POSITION, REFER TO SERVICE INFORMATION FOR THE APPROPRIATE TEST TOOL AND TERMINAL.
