My vehicle has only 58,350 miles on it. Although it is 10 years old, you wouldn't expect to have to replace the transmission on a vehicle that has less than 60k miles on it. When I contacted Honda Customer Service to see if they could offer any financial assistance, they would not help, because the vehicle is outside of the service warranty. Honda has developed a very bad reputation for their transmissions within the past 15 years. Before this I would have remained a loyal Honda customer. I may have to switch to Toyota, or an American manufacturer, for my next vehicle. Seriously dissatisfied with their customer service. The dealership wants to charge $4,000 to replace the transmission. Luckily, I was able to find an independent auto service facility to do it for $2700.
I am very cautious about my honda due to the first 2 dr honda accord v6 I had ... had transmission problems at 70000 miles back in 2003.(it was a 2000)
I have brought my car several times to honda when the mileage was even lower then it was and they always told me my transmission was fine.
since August is rams up while I would be driving and finally sunday it stopped and the 3rd gear was completely ground ... I looked all over the internet and saw that this has been a problem for Honda and their transmission has been faulty. I called them and they refuse to help me ...
I am looking to see if anyone with a 2006 or similar issue to please respond so I may know what I should do.
The transmission seems to keep hunting between gears when cruising at highway speed. Impossible to get a smooth ride. My car is only about a year old with about 40,000 miles, but this has occurred since the beginning. I took it to the dealer - the service adviser said that there were not trouble codes and this is just the way the car drives. I like everything else about the car.
