For about two months before I got it fixed, I started hearing a strange whistling noise when I initially put my foot on the gas pedal. This happened at every stop sign and light. I had it looked at during some routine maintenace work, but they were not surewhat it was(also had new problem of the steering wheel vibrating but thats another story). After going to 2 other places, who could not diagnose the problem, I ended up at the Honda Dealer. After days of checking their sources finally diagnosed it to be a transmission problem. The car was out of warranty because of years, but only 58,000 in miles. Honda agreed to pay 75%. In over 45 year of actual driving experince I have never replaced a transmission...this was a first and I'm the orignal owner.
