CarComplaints.com Notes: Some people think the seats in the 2015 Accord are uncomfortable, which is a problem that has plagued the Accord since 2008.

However our opinion is the seats have gotten better, & aside from that issue, the 2015 model year seems relatively trouble free.

Problem started with just a strange noise. It was diagnosed as a starter problem. Starter was replaced. $250. Just about a week later it would occasionally refuse to start and would instead screech when start button was pressed. It would normally start with retrying. It got worse and worse sometimes taking 5 or more times before it started. replaced starter again. Screeched. Took to transmission place thinking possibly the flywheel was stripped. They said it looked good. Replaced starter. Still screeches. Back to transmission place. THey say Honda has lots of service reports on this issue. THey did all the diagnostics Honda recommends. THey are in the process of major work replacing flywheel. Estimate of repair cost is $3,000. I hope to pick it up this week.

I am the original owner. I take care of my car and have all service done on time. I am very disappointed in Honda with less than 100,000 miles needing this major a repair.

When I press start button, the starter grinds. It takes 3 or 4 times to start the car. This happens about once a week. I see Honda has a TSB 16-002 for this problem but they want about $1000 to do the fix. My Accord has under 50,000 miles. I think Honda could do better. This car was over $32,000 when I bought it... I like Honda but this makes me think twice on my next new car.

Push start button and starter grinds but will not engage. Honda TSB 16-002, so Honda is aware of this problem but wants $1000 to fix.......

When I press start, it makes a whir/grind noise and fails to start. This happens about once every 2 weeks or more often. It will start on 2nd or 3rd try but I am afraid it will leave me stranded.

Honda Accord LX 2015 model with 36000 miles driven. I got the starter problem. The car takes 5 to 10 mins to start after trying over and over. I paid $800 to replace the starter. Actually the starter problems comes after running 200,000 miles but had occurred only for 36,000 miles.

Accord Sport 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Started with battery issues, got it replaced 2 times one got covered by warranty and 2nd time I had to pay out of pocket $200.

NOW!

It’s been about 2/3 weeks that I’m having start up issues on my new 2015 Honda Accord, dealership saying they think it may be the starter but they will have to run test and that will cost $140 to see what’s wrong and if it’s the starter then they will fix it for about $900 -$1000 parts and labor.

If I would have known that a brand new car out of the dealership was going to give me this problem as soon as I paid it off I would have never bought this car. Only 4 years old and it’s having major starting issues I don’t want to see what will happen 4 years from today.

DON’T BUY THIS CAR!!!!!

Accord EX-L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Bought my Honda Accord in October of 2015. The Starter was making a loud screeching noise so I took it into the dealership. Cost to repair is $600 plus labor. They estimate at about $1,000. Not covered under the 3 year warranty. Was reading up online and apparently there has been a class action lawsuit against Honda about this because they knew about the problem and did not do anything to fix it.

dealers also try to avoid getting starter issue resolved, and wait for you to go out of warranty to charge you money.

Car wouldn't start. Just clicked. Already replaced the battery. Honda service guy said that most likely is the starter but couldn't replicate it. It happened 6 times today. 700 dollars to fix a starter on a two year old starter is crap. I have never had a starter issue. Ever. 208,000 miles on my last 2007 Infiniti M35. Never one issue. Honda sucks.

My brand new car would not start! I was stranded, delayed in picking up my son after school & missed a day of work due to this issue, that was not my fault! It is a Saturday & was advised by Riverside Honda that the replacement part would not be available till maybe Monday. A day I need to report to my job. I have a 50 mile commute one way daily!

am very, very dissatisfied with this whole process on my New Car. I truly expected more from Honda. I was advised that this problem very seldom occurs & Honda is one of the safest cars on the road, however, not perfect by a customer relation manager at Norm Reese Honda in Cerritos, Ca. I took that as a "what you want me to do" approach to my issue.
