The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had experienced the failure causing the check engine warning light to remain illuminated. The vehicle also experienced shaking and vibrating while driving at various speeds and excessive fuel consumption. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the spark plugs and the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 70,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
