I've replaced the fob battery twice, but this morning it wouldn't open with the key either. I kept at it and eventually it opened. It has been intermittent. Honda is charging me $300.00 to put in driver's door actuator. The 2010 should be included in a new lawsuit.

Took the CR-V to the dealer for repair and they refused to reimburse my cost. They said contact Honda Customer Care. I head back from CSC and they also refused to reimburse me. I checked the VIN with the ones covered by the class action law suit and it is covered, the part number replaced (which I have) is the same as those used in 2007-2011 models. I have contacted the law office handling this law suit.

After a nice dinner Friday night we returned to our car and were not able to open the doors, not even with the manual key. We called road side assistance and the guy could not open the driver side door, not even with his gadgets. He had to go for the button that opens the passenger door. He stated that he had never seen a problem like this. I had to go in through the passenger door because the driver's door would not open at all from the inside either.

The agency is charging us $998 to fix the car. We researched and found that there is a class action lawsuit including the 2010 model: "The plaintiffs alleged that the actuator, which is part of the door lock system, is defective and that Honda knew about the defect in CR-V models in years 2007 through 2011, but kept this information from Honda CR-V owners and leases so the automaker would not have to cover the repair under the three-year warranty."

The lawsuit was settled like this: Welcome to the Honda CR-V Door Lock Settlement website. This website provides information about the settlement of a lawsuit concerning power door lock actuators on certain Settlement Class Vehicles (2007-2008 Honda CR-Vs and certain 2009 Honda CR-Vs).

It looks like we were left behind on this one. Will like to know if any body has had this same problem on Honda CR-V's newer than 2009.

In February I noticed an unusual noise when I locked the door on driver side. I ignored it, but each day got louder. Few days ago, the noise was too loud and uncomfortable. After some study I find out this is problem with Honda CRV. I talked with HONDA USA. They have been very nice and created a case study based on report I saw about class action suit. They suggested I show to Dealership. They checked and replaced the actuator and problem was gone. Cost of $422.95. I am very uncomfortable paying this amount for an issue which is m manufactures fault. I am in communication with Honda, they have a copy of my invoice. I hope I get a good result .

This is a known problem in the 2007-2009 Honda CRV's. There is a class action lawsuit. I think the 2010's should be looked at for the same problem and join the lawsuit.
