Upon taking this vehicle in for its 90,000 mile maintenance service, the Honda certified mechanics informed us that the power steering rack was leaking fluid and would not pass New York state safety inspection. The exact mileage of the car was at 91653. We had to replace the rack system at a cost to us of over $1,000. This system failure should not have occurred at this stage of the car's life. I would like an investigation initiated to see if a recall is warranted. Some online research has shown me that other 2011 CRV owners have experienced this exact same problem.

Very early failure of power steering rack and pinion. The dealer/Honda did not provide a better mechanism to identify the issue. I think Honda power steering is a very defective part that they are selling to customers and charging hefty dollars $1750 to repair at the customer's expense.

Within 30 days from buying my car from a dealer it started making a sound like it was going over a really loud rumble strip and it shakes the steering wheel and can be felt in the passenger seat. I bought this car in September 2017 and to date 4/22/2018 I have had it back to the dealer 6 times with the same issue. I have been told it is just trying to shift between gears or there is nothing wrong with it. It dose not do it all the time so I dont know it they have heard it or not they have only let me go on one test drive with them. The only way to make it stop is to speed up or slow down. This isnt safe at all. It will happen on all road surfaces so it's not just the type of road I am driving on.

I have noticed the steering becoming more and more stiff. It will not return to the straight position unless you forcefully turn the steering wheel. This occurs while in motion on highways or city streets.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the steering wheel began vibrating excessively. The traction also diminished when the contact was driving over a wet surface. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the dealer for diagnosis. The mechanic stated that the tires had worn unevenly due to a vehicle failure. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The technician suggested replacing the tires. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000.

2011 Honda CRV 4X4 was going at 52 mph and trying to brake and steering wheel was shaking really bad. Also when driving at 65+ mph this car steering really shakes badly. -complaint it to Honda motor / dealer where car was purchased but no real help from anyone to fix the problem. - all 4-tires are worn un-evenly at 19000 miles - dealer / Honda motor is not willing to response back or send us email back to acknowledge our complaint about the tires. - they are saying that this is not their problem, I should be complaining to the tire company.

With 28,000 miles now on our 2011 CRV that we bought new all 4 tires were worn out with 13,550 miles on them, and had always had a very slight front end bump. After replacing all 4 tires the bump was so bad we went straight back to the tire dealer and tire pressure and balance was rechecked and was fine the tires are Firestone. At 100 miles on the tires we went back and had the tires rechecked and rotated with no improvement in the bump. The Honda dealership could only say the original tires were a very soft compound as the new ones are a better tire and does not ride as soft. This dealership has since changed owners and there is no record of them checking the car. He CRV exl now has 25000 miles and tires are wearing great but still have the bump.

After making a right turn the car pulls to the right, Honda calls this memory steering but in bad weather the front has a loss of traction. Vibration starting around 60mph. Tires were change, front end aligned but the vibration still remains. Feels like a shaft problems. A complaint is file with the BBB.
