CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 Honda CR-V has a trend of engine hesitation when accelerating.

Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.

This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

This is a known issue with Honda. They have 2 service bulletins about this. A shudder/vibration on light acceleration. I brought it to a dealership, paid out of my pocket for the "fix". It didn't shudder for about a week and now it's back and drives worse than before. There is a second "fix" they request you to do, but I'm reading in multiple Honda forum's about this problem that that doesn't work, either. Why this isn't a recall is beyond me, as there are thousands of threads online about this specific issue with this specific car and year.

There are two Service Bulletins. The first 15-086 for software update and transmission oil change, and if not corrected there is a second one 17-040 where it says a torque converter may be replaced... Look here http://www.hondaproblems.com/models/cr-v/tsbs/2014/ And then download 2 pdf files here. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/SB-10085226-2280.pdf https://f01.justanswer.com/freefallin2005/71eff989-dc8c-493e-83e8-8f513cd4666e_crv.PDF

I am going to dealer and coming armed with the two service bulletins.

2014 Honda CRV transmission seems to shudder or jump when shifting between 2 and 3rd at low acceleration speeds. Is this normal?

The dealer said that they had changed the transmission oil and updated the software. The problem was solved, but I'm not sure if it was the software. Now I have a new leak.

Update from Jul 12, 2017: The dealer update the software and change the oil, now the vibration is at 32km.
