The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that the engine would not start after several attempts. The vehicle's battery was jumped and the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic. No defects were detected. After experiencing the same failure multiple times, the vehicle's alternator and battery were replaced by the independent mechanic. The contact's wife was driving 60 mph, the battery indicator and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle then shut off, which caused her to lose complete control of the vehicle. The contact's wife was able to slowly steer the vehicle to the side of the road where it completely died. The vehicle would not restart and was towed to the same independent mechanic where the battery and alternator replaced. The vehicle was diagnosed again, but no failure was found. The vehicle continued not to start after multiple attempts. The contact was able to attach a component to the vehicle, provided by the mechanic, that would prevent the vehicle from failing. The contact was able to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic from where the vehicle was purchased. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

The car vibrates like crazy when I come to a stop while the car is in drive or reverse. The vibration is coming from the engine and it goes in and out constantly. For example standing on red light and or stop signs. I reached out to Honda and they have informed me that there is nothing they can do about it. In 2015/2016 Honda CRV they put the new engine and new cvt transmission which is garbage and is making these vibrations. Please help as Honda is not willing to do anything about it. Thanks

I have a problem with a lag in the take off in my vehicle caused by an issue with the Honda cvt or constant velocity transmission. It occurs at the most inconvenient times and is not predictable. The lag or pause happens when merging and when trying to avoid being hit. The situation I am told by Honda service center is caused by an oil pressure issue to the cvt transmission. Honda is aware of the issue and has not fixed it. I has been to D patrick Honda on 04/17/2019 in evansville Indiana.this is a dangerous situation because you dont know if the vehicle will accelerate or not.

The vehicle vibrates very rough when idle in drive gear. Specifically, the issue happens when the vehicle is stationary and in drive gear and all accessories turned off and when the engine temperature has reached its optimum (fully warmed up engine). The issue goes away if the RPM is raised (when stationary and in drive gear) by turning on any accessory like fan or rear defroster etc. This was a known issue in Honda CR-V 2015 and was admitted as "mode 1 vibrations" by Honda. Honda put out a fix for CR-V 2015 by tsb 15-046. A lot of Honda 2016 CR-V including my vehicle is showing exactly the same symptoms but Honda is refusing to provide a fix for 2016 CR-V vibration issue citing it as a "normal characteristics of the vehicle". the excessive vibrations during idle are causing headaches and significant jitters in the body during excessive stop-and-go traffic conditions. Also, the owners of these vibrating 2016 Cr-vs are concerned about longetivity of transmission mounts, engine mounts and other mechanical connections due to this high engine vibrations. NHTSA should definitely look into this issue and hold Honda accountable to providing a fix for this issue. Following are the links to videos on youtube and google search. When sitting at a red light in drive/idle with brake engaged, the car vibrates severely. This was known defect on their 2015 model CRV's as well. Dealer says no fix available because Honda North America has not acknowledged the problem. I have seen multiple similar complaints from other 2016 Honda CRV owners all over the internet.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. while driving approximatley 40 mph, the vehicle started to hesitate and lose power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (North shore Honda located in glen head, NY), but the failure was unable to be duplicated. Several weeks later, while driving in stop and go traffic, the transmission suddenly failed and would not shift into gear. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who replaced the valve body assembly. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,797.

Over the past year or so, after I back my car out of my driveway (slight incline) into the street, I place my car's gear in drive. On two occasions, the car hesitated going forward regardless of the amount of acceleration to the engine; in other words, the car basically sat in the street requiring me to nurse it forward until the drive gear fully engaged. I am the original owner. I have taken the car to the local dealership and left it with them for a week. The dealership claims that they could not replicate the problem and, therefore, they can't fix it. My frustration is that both Honda and the dealership leave me with the belief that I am the only owner of a Honda experiencing the stated problem; it is especially of concern to me should the stated problem occur after backing out into a busy street/intersection.

Bad vibration while the car is stopped in gear shakes the occupants. This vibration happens when the engine RPM falls to 500 to 550 on the tachometer. Honda refuses to do anything to fix the issue based on a fear of the epa and fuel economy ratings for the vehicle. Honda calls this a normal characteristic of the vehicle but our family currently owns 5 Honda vehicles and this is the only on to exhibit this abnormal vibration characteristic. The vibration was not as pronounced until the cvt software update (recall) was performed on the vehicle. Honda has tried several things to remedy this vibration but has been unsuccessful.

2016 Honda CR-V vibration issue - more than two months ago, I started to notice a slight vibration under my driver's seat when at idle, e.g. sitting at a traffic light. Shortly thereafter, I received a notice from ahmc regarding a software update that needed to be done asap on my vehicle. The notice mentioned that, "the software in the PCM causes a low pressure problem in the cvt. This may allow the belt in the cvt to slip. If the belt slips, you may see a surge in RPM when driving at highway speeds. If the belt slips the transmission will be damaged and dtc P1890 (the cvt speed control system) will set." The software update was completed about a month ago and since then, I have experienced a more pronounced vibration under my driver's seat and even into the front passenger seat. The intensity of the vibration varies, but it has not gone away. Now that I have hit the 5K mile mark and had my first service done, I am afraid that the older the transmission gets, the worse this problem might become. The service advisor told me that the software update had nothing to do with the vibration issue, but I am not convinced. Before buying this vehicle, my research indicated that many customers with the 2015 model started to report the vibration issue right around this time (5K miles + or around the first scheduled service) and for most, the problem became worse. I am convinced that these issues are related to the new cvt transmission. I have always been loyal to the Honda brand and I really like this vehicle, but I am starting to regret my purchase!!! :-(

Vehicle "stalls" when: Backing out of driveway when accelerating after slowing down when making left or right turns after stopping or slowing down stalling does not occur every single time but occurs regularly. One one occation stall occured while making a left turn resulting confusion between driver in oncoming traffic and myself as I could not control the vehicle stall duration is between 1 to 3 seconds and it seems to be getting longer as the parts or system components are wearing. Stalls occur mostly in city driving I suspect that the trouble is within the "drive by wire" or the cvt
