I believe a sudden unintended acceleration issue caused an accident with my 2016 Honda CR-V as I was driving to work on December 12, 2019. At that time, I had been driving for over 36 years both on maui and as an air force officer in the conus. In all that time, I had never driven recklessly or even sped as is evidenced by my driving record. That morning, my vehicle had reportedly been driving at a high rate of speed and ended up flipping over several times leading to my hospitalization and surgery for spinal Fusion. Unfortunately, due to the resulting concussion, I can't remember anything from the morning of the incident until waking up in the icu after surgery, not even driving to work. Knowing that I would never purposely speed, I hired someone to download the black box data. To my shock, it showed constant acceleration, no steering inputs, and no braking inputs for at least five seconds. The only reason I've decided to put this out there now is due to the parallels I've read about with tiger woods' recent accident. I don't believe anyone who has driven for decades would ever mistake the accelerator for the brake pedal. Moreover, if they did, their instinct would be to quickly release the accelerator then brake, definitely not to continue to floor it for several seconds. I'm not expecting to get anything personally out of this complaint. My main hope is that investigation will be done to prevent further injuries and deaths. Please investigate to see if many other black box reports from similar accidents show accelerator floored with no braking or steering inputs for several seconds. Perhaps there is some combination of inputs causing wrong signals to be sent to the electronic control module. I believe the reason there aren't many more reports of this is due to the unfortunate fact that in most cases, the driver ends up either dead or having a concussion.

Engine vibration at idle and engine noise when starting in the cold. When hot, whining noise inside by timing chain area. Sent 5 times for repair at paragon Honda and the situation was never fixed and every time sent, they keep the car in the dealer for one week and an extra week in hillside Honda. My car has 23,700 miles and have all services done at paragon Honda and at hillside Honda and the noises continue. I contacted american Honda and the situation is never resolved yet they know about the issue.

When my vehicle was about 45 to 55 mph, I can feel that the vehicle started vibrating. The vibration came through the steering wheel, so I can feel on my both hands. It may affect body as well because my body can feel it as well. Below 45 mph or above 55 mph, the vibration is gone. Since this Sept, the situation persists.

While driving on the interstate, the steering wheel and brake pedal both locked up, so I was unable to control the car in any way. After the vehicle drifted across several lanes, it hydroplaned, spinning several times. At no point did any of the vehicle's many automated stability features activate, including ABS. Had I collided with another vehicle I likely would not have survived. I was lucky instead to wreck in a ditch, at which point the vehicle returned control of the wheel and brakes, but still the ABS did not seem to activate. Further, the side airbags deployed a second or two late, after the car was already uprighting from having rolled on its side. I suspect this scenario might be explained by a defect in how the software responds to sensor readings of slick road conditions.

Just picked up new to me used vehicle 8/21/20. 8/22/20 the eps light came on and extremely hard to drive. Took it straight to the dealer's. I did receive a loaner car. Picked it up on 8/26/20. Got about 1/2 mile from home and the eps came on. This means you have no power steering. Very difficult to turn. Called dealer back. They are bringing me a loaner and taking my CRV back to try and get diagnosis. Very upset as I need this vehicle for work Saturday.

Vibration in steering wheel, at 70 to 80 mph on freeway, you don't want to hold steering wheel, car was brand new took in at 1,200 miles Honda dealer balanced all 4 tires, vibration is still there. I went back to complain, the service writer said, you now have 11,000 miles on the vehicle why did you wait so long I said I've had over10 major back operations and my wife is the main driver, she does not drive at 70 mph, when I drive at 70 mph it is because I have to keep up with traffic in the fast lane and the vibration in the steering is still present, the service writer started making excuses for not fixing the problem, now being a vietnam war vet and I had a 60% hearing lost at the time, so I talk a little loud, I went out to sit in my car to wait to get my car fixed, the service manager came out to my car and be-little me, not realizing I've been a car mechanic for 30 years, he said you can take your car where ever you want to, but we at manly Honda santa rosa, ca. Will not fix your car even though it is still under warranty. Then he says get off the property and don't come back. I paid to have the tires balanced again at a tire shop, the vibration in the steering is still present !!!!!.

Complaint: Safety problem with my 2016 Honda CRV ex-L. electronic power steering (eps) has gone out on me two times on freeway (once turning into a curve on freeway, second time on freeway driving straight) and once on surface street (leaving an establishment and trying to get out of a parking space). When eps went out, steering became extremely stiff and barely movable making any maneuver of the car challenging and dangerous. Honda is under warranty. Honda dealership has had car in shop 3 times attempting to repair. They have sent me out two times saying car was repaired but each time car had to be returned with same problem. Dealership has attempted to repair car and have replaced 2 parts (unknown) pertaining to eps with no success. Now they are ordering a 3 part (unknown) in attempt to repair the eps. I have expressed my fear of the car to Honda Corp. Office as well as dealership. I am afraid they will give me my SUV back saying it is fixed and again I will find myself in a dangerous situation when the eps goes out for the 4th time. Information selected for speed limit at time of incident only reflects surface street drive. When on freeway, speed was between 40-65 miles.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. while driving 10 mph and making a right turn, the steering failed and the power steering indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Honda of ithaca (315 elmira rd, ithaca NY, 14850) where it was diagnosed that rodents had eaten the soy based wiring. The contact stated that the wiring and rack needed to be replaced and the codes needed to be cleared. Additionally, the contact was advised to purchase mouse magic, peppermint candy, and moth balls to repel the rodents. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 10,911.

Electric power steering completely broken, car brought brand new, only 6K miles - owned 6 months. Car completely undrivable. Wires are coated in soy so rodents eat wires, Honda admitted to this happening to many people but will not take fault. Not safe to drive, can not turn wheel. Had to get car towed to dealership, they will not provide rental.
