- Summary
- The Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) has received several EWR field reportsalleging a loss of motive power for Model Year (MY) 2018-2022 Honda CR-V and HR-V vehicles. The field reports allege that the loss of motive power occurs at highway speed with no warning. The field reports cite differential seal leaks resulting in rear differential lock-up as the cause of the loss of motive power. Some of the field reports allege that the rear differential lock-up caused the driveshaft to fracture while the vehicle was in motion resulting in the vehicle being towed.ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation (PE) to determine the scope and severity of the potential problem as well as to fully assess the potential safety related issues.
