CarComplaints.com Notes: Yes, the Honda Civic receives a lot of complaints because so many were sold. And sure, car parts only last so long and things eventually break. But it's never good to see this many transmission complaints, especially when the average mileage at failure is just north of 100,000 miles.

Especially when you consider that it's predecessor also has a nasty history with transmission complaints.

Driver side power window constantly gets stuck and is very slow. This problem occurs especially when it's raining. Really annoying, especially when it's raining and you try to put the window up, have to reach over and physically grip the window and help it up.

Civic EX 1.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

At first the passenger window started making a bit of noise. I decided to try to not use it as much until I brought it in to have it looked at. I then noticed some "gunk" on the window that when I tried to remove it, removed my tint as well.

I found out later when I brought it in that the heat in Phoenix causes excess glue in the door to melt onto the power window motor.

I still have the problem after 30,000 miles because I did not get it repaired. However the window does still work, however slowly. It does make less noise now however.
