CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 and 2015 Honda Odyssey shows an early trend of transmission problems with clunking/jerking when shifting gears.

Most of these Odyssey transmissions are still under warranty, but so far Toyota generally hasn't been able to diagnose or fix the clunking problem — that's the reason for our low rating. Some owners have reported it was a stuck solenoid, & in a few cases Honda has replaced the entire transmission.

As more of these Odysseys start exceeding the 60,000-mile powertrain warranty limit, buyer beware.

Have 2015 Honda Odyssey with a paint defect, just showed up as a slight bubble and next thing you know its the size of a sheet of paper and growing. Its not clear coat peeling, it is the complete paint all the way down to the E-coat (Primer). Took it to the Honda dealer and was told to take it to a specific body shop that does their work for an estimate. the estimate was $3058.98, which then Honda declined saying the vehicle was out of warranty. Honda wont fix it or even meet me half way on the repair. I know now never to buy another Honda again. Have a 14 year old truck just starting to have some clear coat peel on the front, but its 14 years old and its peeling off to the primer, had I known Honda had this issue, I never would have bought the van. The paint is peeling between the roof and the sunroof, will attach pictures when I get the chance.

Update from Jun 19, 2023: Contacted Honda of North America the corproate office sent them pictures and a copy of the body shop invoice HOnda again declined a ggod will gesture of at least to cover half the cost basically told me out of warrenty not our problem, Thank you for buying a Honda, Honda dont care until thier is a class action lawsuit then we might get some attention, they lost one in Canada for the paint issue. van will be going to the body shop next month to have the paint repaired

Honda has ONGOING paint issues. There is a KNOWN issue with the primer that leads to painting peeling in massive sheets. They have issued a warranty extension for some models - in the case of the Odyssey, it is the 2012-2014 models. Apparently, it hasn't happened in enough 2015s for them to take responsibility for something they know is their defect.

I used to be an Odyssey evangelist. This is my second Odyssey and will be my LAST. It is one thing to have an issue, but to not take ownership is WRONG. It blows my mind that Honda doesn't have an issue with their cars driving around looking like they were picked up from the junkyard. Do your research, and this is a major BUYER BEWARE!!
