CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 and 2015 Honda Odyssey shows an early trend of transmission problems with clunking/jerking when shifting gears.

Most of these Odyssey transmissions are still under warranty, but so far Toyota generally hasn't been able to diagnose or fix the clunking problem — that's the reason for our low rating. Some owners have reported it was a stuck solenoid, & in a few cases Honda has replaced the entire transmission.

As more of these Odysseys start exceeding the 60,000-mile powertrain warranty limit, buyer beware.

Likely the transmission leaked from the moment we drove it off the lot. Not sure how it passed inspection at the dealer. I always thought it shifted rough but I did not drive it the first month or so at all - only my husband did. After I started driving the car I immediately asked my husband if he thought it was rough in the transmission and he didn't think it was bad. It was bad. It was very bad! I knew something was wrong - no other car in my life has shifted like this one. Including two prior Honda Odyssey's!

When I parked it out in our driveway instead of in the garage it became obvious it was leaking fluid. It was leaking transmission fluid and left many stains on our driveway. Worse yet, when we contacted the service department of the dealership we bought it at, I was told they couldn't fit us in for almost two weeks (hmmm... air bag replacements/recall???). I said this is practically a NEW CAR and it is leaking something it shouldn't and we can't wait two weeks. I don't feel safe driving the car on our planned family road trip! Nothing. My husband then called our salesman who got us a loaner and a promise to get it fixed while we were on vacation for a week.

There was a cracked connector on one of the valve body connectors and leaks coming from "all over". They did the following: Replaced the Valve Body Connector, Seals, tonque converter main shaft oil seal, and converter O ring. They also did a two wheel alignment and test drove it checking for leaks.

Update from Sep 29, 2015: Car started leaking transmission fluid again within days of getting it back home. This time the dealership service department replaced the transmission. It still is very rough shifting especially in the 15-30 mph range. Especially when not driving with fast acceleration uphill. I am still not happy.

I wonder what damage has happened to this vehicle as a result of a bad transmission over time, or if any other damage was done during the 30 plus step process that has to be done to pull out a transmission and then put another one back in. In my opinion there is still a transmission problem although it is not leaking fluid and it has been a month now since the transmission has been replaced.
