CarComplaints.com Notes: There's no way around it, the Cherokee's transmission is junk. There's no other explanation for why a vehicle, usually with under 40,000 miles, would have so many complaints

The visual indicator does not show you are about to strike an object and at other times alarms and shows that you are when there is absolutely nothing around. I backed into a 4 foot high cement wall while it said I was just getting close, I backed into a cement pillar without it showing I was getting too close (and it struck the sensor dead on!). I backed into a BMW 3 times while trying to get out of the tight parking. It never showed I was close, I did not feel any impact, but the owner watched it all happen and came out screaming. Good thing she is a friend. Did little damage to her car but now it will cost me. It was striking the corner of her car directly on one of my sensors as well? Think Jeep has a serious depth perception problem on their hands!
In total I have backed into objects 4 times at a very slow speed with no warning I was getting close. In addition, on several occasions I have had to get out of my car to verify nothing was behind me as my alarm was going off. Trust your mirrors and consider the parking assist as worthless or even a detriment.
