CarComplaints.com Notes: There's no way around it, the Cherokee's transmission is junk. There's no other explanation for why a vehicle, usually with under 40,000 miles, would have so many complaints

I have driven 26000 km with this car and it's getting worse and worse. Complained from the start about jerky gear changes, huge delay in throttle response when you put your foot down to accelerate. You can unpack a picnic basket before it responds then it responds so aggressively you suffer whiplash. It jerks forward after you let go of the gas, you can't maneuver it gently, it jumps forward. Tired of the endless software upgrade excuses and so called tranny learning process.

The ABS brakes failed, it shimmies when you accelerate and start to overtake. When you accelerate, it feels like traction control is confused. This is by far the worst car I have ever had. If you accelerate and change your mind, just before it gears down it gets so confused at one stage it locked all 4 wheels and then changed, whiplash hell. This is a dangerous vehicle, if you don't own one, don't consider buying one.
