CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2019 Cherokee is racking up engine complaints for suddenly shutting down while driving. But the problem could possibly be related to the increasingly defective 9-speed transmission which suffers from hard shifts, lurching problems, and a wiring harness defect that can cause sudden shutdowns or an unexpected shift into neutral.

Both front doors fill with water in even the lightest rain. A health emergence is developing due to mold forming. Additionally, any/all electronics in the door are likely to short out causing many safety issues if this known problem is not addressed by the manufacturer.

When stopped at a light, the light turned green, the parking break engaged and the car shut off. The car behind me almost rear-ended me. After waiting a minute I put the car in park and tried to start the car again. I had to put the gas pedal to the floor to get the car to start and not stall out. This has happened on multiple occasions. I took the car to the dealer and learned that I had a motor with faulty rings and was given a new motor, however this problem has still persisted. The driver side door also accumulates water. Enough water to hear when making a turn.

Since I bought our 2019 Jeep Cherokee new, the hood has had a bad flutter. It flutters bad enough that it sets off the auto stop/start light. Have had it into the dealer at least 6 times and no resolution. It flutters so bad that it seems the hood is actually going to fly open. It really gets bad when you pass another vehichle.

While driving, my rear hatch warning came on, I pulled over to realize that the latch would not lock, causing my lights to stay on, causing a cold environment for my 9 months old baby, with the door not being able to seal. With this broken, also disables my remote start, voiding any anti theft abilities.

I bought a brand new 2019 Jeep Cherokee trail hawk from an amarillo Texas dealership. I noticed when I bought the vehicle the hood was shaking and the wind was picking it up like it was loose. I took it in 3 times to have it fixed. The first time they said the factory misaligned the hood at the factory and they realigned it. It still was shaking and coming up. Took it back 2nd time they adjusted it again, took it home same problem, not fixed. Took it back a third time they looked at it said they did all they could do to fix it. I have been driving a brand new vehicle that is unsafe on the highway. My hood still catches air pulls up and slams down and an engine light has come on 3 times. I have children that ride in this car. I don't drive on windy days because I feel unsafe in the car. It feels like the latch on the hood is going to give way and my hood is going to come up and hit my windshield. I am protected under the lemon law and nothing is being done about this safety concern. I need an investigation conducted on my vehicle. As of right now it is unsafe to drive. My hood doesn't sit flush with the body of the car and you can fit all of your fingers in the gap between the hood and body of car.

Plastic door trim is coming off exterior of vehicle. Noticed while washing the vehicle. The driver side sun visor also ripped out of headliner after a handful of uses. The first time was while driving. Completely dangerous as it takes 2 hands to put it back up.

Since the day I picked up this 2019 Jeep Cherokee limited two weeks ago, the hood shakes and flutters in certain driving conditions causing safety concerns. Driving into high winds and over 55 mph, air gets under the hood in such a way that it seems as if the hood could break loose causing either injuries or an accident. It gets even worse when driving in side winds and meeting semi trucks. It actually appears that the gust of wind coming off the truck is going to take the hood off of the vehicle. Driving this Cherokee in these conditions has personally caused me very high anxiety to the point where I am constantly focused on the hood rather than the road. When meeting semi trucks on the highway, I pull as far to the right as possible sometimes completely going off the road in an attempt to minimize the wind gust. These are major safety concerns to me and I don't feel safe driving this vehicle on public roads. It has gotten to the point where I have to take anti anxiety medication just to get the courage to drive on the highway, thus causing other safety issues and feeling as if I'm being an irresponsible driver. The Jeep dealer has adjusted the hood latch and bumpers but the problem still exists just as it did when I purchased the vehicle.
