CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2019 Cherokee is racking up engine complaints for suddenly shutting down while driving. But the problem could possibly be related to the increasingly defective 9-speed transmission which suffers from hard shifts, lurching problems, and a wiring harness defect that can cause sudden shutdowns or an unexpected shift into neutral.

After coming to a stop at an intersection with a red light I was at a complete stop and the auto engine on/off feature activated. When the light turned green I went to accelerate but as soon as I applied the accelerator the displays, dash lights, and headlights all turned off. The vehicle's engine also turned off. The electronics stayed off for several more seconds before coming back on but I could not start the vehicle for nearly a minute. While attempting to turn the vehicle back on I had put it in park, had my foot on the brake, and had held the push to start button in all three positions. The engine did not attempt to turn over at any time. After approximately 1 minute, I was finally able to start the vehicle again and continue to my home. Once I arrived, I cycled through the vehicle information screens. The battery read an output of 13.6 volts. The vehicle acted normally afterwards and no warning lights appeared after or were on before.
When driving on same roads with similar cloud cover 60% of the time the radio reception is not working well. Cuts in and out. The other 40% of the time it works fine. The audio coming from a media source is not effected and neither is sirus radio. Only fm and am stations.
Driving on a local road I lost ability to accelerate. It sounded like the engine was no longer running. Luckily was able to pull over. After turning off the car I could not turn the car back on.
My car is having an issue with starting up its delaying as if its flooded. It does it with the automatic start up and the key start up. It is parked in my driveway or in parking lots at a store or work. The radiator fluid is always showing low there is no cracks or leaks something is definitely wrong. I check every time I drive it then park.
Was driving our 2019 Jeep Cherokee 3.2L trailhawk and as we were braking for a stop sign it just died on us. It started back up but stuttered as it turned over. Something is a miss because it has never did this. Always runs great in the past"??? what in the world 🌎 is going on??"

The failure mileage was approximately 11,500.
1029 Jeep Cherokee limited, bought in June 2020 with about 20000M on it. Battery light came on in mid traffic on July 13, and would not turn off. Took it back to dealer/service a week later, they could not find the problem. 2 days later, same thing, battery light comes on in the middle of a major thunderstorm and lots of traffic. Called for another appointment, 7 days out because the service dept. Has no time. Will not provide rental or other compensation. I am asking to return the car. Very very disappointed. I had a 2000 Cherokee limited for many years, then a Jeep compass, never a thing wrong with either car, and now this!
On 7/12/2020. My 2019, Jeep Cherokee latitude 4X4. The electrical system engaged the emergency brakes and when I attempted to disengage the system re-engineering and vehicle can not move due to this. And I don't know why and how safe this my be if it happened on the road? need to fix this
The uconnect system is malfunctioning when in motion. It is randomcly calling people, nav is a mess and not working, radio will switch from fm/am/sattelite stations, every thing is haphazardly messed up. I feel it very dangerous as it is so distracting. I traded the car yesterday so I would not get in an accident.
5 out of the last 6 times when I am leaving the house, the engine shuts off when I make a left hand turn. When I restart the engine sounds like the battery is dead. It takes a few seconds, but then the engine finally restarts. I only have had this problem in the morning.
My car has turned off on me several times since I bought it. It slowly starts and shuts off when I make a turn. It has shut off on me up to 4 times in less than a mile, while I have my child in the car. Also in a busy intersection. I have taken it back to dealer several times and they say it is due to low oil and they add it and send me on my way. This issue continues and is a huge inconvenience. 04/10 was the last time it happened, I took it in and they changed my oil again.
I am having similar issues that other people are having. No acceleration, vehicle stalling, the car revving over 4-5K rpms stopped and foot on brake, radio issues. What I am trying to find out is how can I get fca to buy back this lemon. Also I would like some data of how many people have filled a complaint. I want to used this info and give it to the national center for dispute settlement
My vehicle is experiencing frequent stalling and will die on me whenever I make an average turn (left or right), or whenever the car is decreasing acceleration on a normal city street. However, I'm experiencing this mostly when my car is still heating up, so around the first 10mins of driving the vehicle after not touching it for 5+ hours. When my car stalls or shuts off, it still shows that the engine is on through the start engine button. However, I still need to put my car in park, and press the start engine button again while pressing on the gas to turn on my car again. When I do this, the car occasionally will struggle to turn on and sometimes it won't start up on the first try. In addition, I experience my car sounding an alert noise occasionally whenever I'm making a normal turn (when my car is fully heated up), but my car doesn't stall or shut off. Another issue that my car is experiencing is I can tell that my car is occasionally struggling to switch gears when I try to accelerate during while my car is in auto mode. From my understanding, there was a recall on my car model back in 2018 for a similar issue on the automatic transmission. However, my car was never recalled and it was never serviced for anything similar to the recall.
The problem started last week, while making a right hand turn my Jeep suddenly lost all electrical power including the power steering. After I put my car in park and waited a few minutes it started back up without further incidents. The first incident happened on a snow day on my morning commute to work, had I taken a busier route it would have caused an accident. The same thing repeated the following day minus the snowy conditions. I schedule my car for service where I bought it as soon as I was able to take it. When I arrived to the dealer I spoke to a service adviser and explained what had transpired. He quickly recognized the problem, and asked a very specific question. He asked if the car died out while making a right hand turn which was the case both incidents. He went on to say that it happened to that model and engine if they oil gets low. I was astounded as I was not due for an oil change for around 1,000 miles. Clearly Jeep is aware of the issue which seems to be obvious design flaw. I understand how recalls work and I am left to assume that they have decided against it as an oil change can be a temporary fix and a engine replacement would be costly and time consuming.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact turned the vehicle off and back on and the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to tuttle-click automotive group38 auto center dr, irvine, ca 92618 (949) 835-4812 where it was diagnosed however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. An oil change was recommended. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer, dch Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of temecula 26845 ynez rd, temecula, ca 92591 (951) 225-4541, to be diagnosed which was still pending. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 18V344000 (engine and engine cooling), NHTSA campaign number: 18V524000 (electrical system) as a possible solution to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Car stall when starting and sometimes stop when braking. Electrical....light comes on. Hazard lights come on radio turns on and off while driving. Turns on on it's own after car is parked and locked. When turning or making shapes turn there is a noise coming from wheels. Stability.... light comes on. Backing up car makes noises as if I have gone over a bump when I have not.
