The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Liberty. While driving at various speeds or while parked, the power tracking on both rear windows constantly fails. The contact stated that the rear windows were not used at all. The driver side rear windows have been replaced three times and the passenger side rear window was replaced twice. The VIN, engine size, and number of cylinders were unknown. The current mileage was 68,480 and failure mileage was 36,000.
No unusual events leading to failure. Failure was the left rear door window regulator. Consequences are driving with inclement weather entering the vehicle and distracting the driver. Failure was corrected by replacement of regulator.
Rear passenger side window fell of track. Came outside to the car and noticed the window was rolled down slightly. Tried to roll up and I can hear the motor but nothing happened. Im guessing its probably a cable that snapped. Did a little research and it seems that im not the only Liberty owner with this problem.
Champion Chrysler-Jeep Inc safety recall F23 customer is very upset that after getting recall fixed that she had to pay out of pocket for the upper ball joints* the dealer stated the rear right seatbelt does not latch and the left right power window does not work. The consumer has provided the invoices for repair. Update
Both rear passenger windows on my 2003 Jeep Liberty have fallen off of the track. When I took my car into the dealership, a man who worked there informed me that this happens "all the time to Liberty's." he claimed the motor was too small. I was upset when the dealership wanted $350 to fix the problem. I live in an area where it rains often, and the window slipping allows for water to get in. Furthermore, a friend who owns a Liberty has the same problem. I am wondering how common this problem really is, and whether or not there should be a recall.
