CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.

All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

On the day bought car and test drove around town less than 45 mph and no noise. Day bought car as started to drive home heard a sound that sounds like a squeaky wheel at 45-60 mph every time I drive the car. Which means that I hear a squeak every day driving to work for 2 hours straight. Have take to Chrysler 4 times and basically they state since they can not hear it they can not fix it. My own mechnanic who is a previous Cadillac service manager stated often mechanics can not hear the problem and they should be able to use "chassis ears" to connect to different areas of the wheels and suspension to locate the problem, but they have refused and state there is nothing more they can do until they hear the problem. The last time I spoke with customer service from Chrysler they closed the case and stated I should talk to the dealer about a buy back. The dealer offer me $15,000 for a $29,000 vehicle bought 3 months. ago.
