Driving on the freeway and heard a loud gunshot sounding noise. Pulled over when it was safe. I discovered the sunroof had exploded. Saw a big hole in the sunroof with glass everywhere including inside the space between the sunroof and the roof of the car.

While driving on a straight, flat, and smooth stretch of highway in nassau county, NY, I heard a sudden loud explosion. I first assumed it was a tire failure, but the car continued straight and true without any vibration, shaking, or erratic movement of any kind. I pulled over onto the shoulder and upon inspection, I saw that the front portion of the panoramic sunroof had a large hole directly in the center and was shattered, with bits of glass from the explosion resting on the still closed sunshade. The incident occurred on a parkway where no commercial traffic is allowed, and it was just after 7:30am on Saturday, October 6th, 2018 so traffic volume was extremely light, almost nonexistent in either direction. There were no other vehicles traveling ahead of me, next to me, or behind me within any close proximity. I was traveling eastbound at or below the posted speed limit of 55 mph.

I purchased my 2014 Nissan Maxima sv on August 27, 2014. On the date of purchase, I noticed a clearly visible problem with the exterior paint on the vehicle. Prior to leaving the dealership on the date of purchase, I notified my salesman that the paint on the body, the front and the rear bumper were all different shades of pearl white. I was assured by the salesman that the reason the appearance was due to the vehicle being parked by green bushes causing a reflection. It is my contention that your company (Nissan North America, Inc.) and its affiliate's, specifically central Nissan in houston, Texas failed to fully disclose product information. The product/goods in question is the Nissan Maxima 2014 model that you manufactured and shipped to your authorized dealerships. This vehicle and others of the same make, model and year were being sold to the public knowing that there were exterior paint variations.the window sticker made no mention that the vehicle had variations of pearl white paint, it just stated pearl white. I have pre-delivery receipts that state that the vehicle was checked for paint discrepancies which were false. A Nissan representative admitted to knowing of the paint variations. If accurate information about paint variations was disclosed during the time of negotiating, I would not have purchased the vehicle. To date, there has not been a public disclaimer/recall to correct the variation(s) of the vehicle(s). This act violates Texas statue $17.46 (B)(7)(24)deceptive trade practices.
