CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 has a small, but significant number of transmission complaints at low mileage. The issue is part of a class-action lawsuit that says the Pathfinder's transmission shakes violently during acceleration between 15mph and 30mph.
I bought a new 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. It has worked fantastic up until now, September 2020. Now, when I fill up the gas tank, when it gets to right above the 1/4 mark, it STOPS. The dashboard and navigation system tell me I have 50 miles left of gas and the gauge says I have over 1/4 tank. This has been going on for a month now and I thought it might be a stuck float so I added gas additives and such but nothing works.
I looked up this problem on the Nissan site and there is a "Bulletin" out on this problem. So, Nissan knows about this and is doing NOTHING AT ALL about it. If I run out of gas on the highway and get in an accident and survive, I will sue the hell out of Nissan for not having a RECALL on something they know can cause an accident. If my wife gets stuck on the road by herself because the SUV runs out of gas and the gauge says she has 1/4 tank left, again, I will sue Nissan. I highly suggest they fix this problem immediately. This is happening every single time we fill up now since Sept 1. 2020.
Digital display and fuel gauge do not match. Can't tell which is accurate some times. E.g. display says 16 miles to empty, but gauge shows 1/2 tank. Car actually cut off (ran out of gas), but showed 1/3 tank.
Fuel level will read different at any given moment, don't know if tank is half full or empty. Almost run out of gas at times due to inaccurate readings.
