The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Quest. While driving at approximate speeds of 30-35 mph in traffic, the vehicle ahead of him stopped abruptly. The contact attempted to engage the brake pedal; however, the brakes became spongy and would not engage. The vehicle crashed into the rear of the preceding vehicle. Upon impact, the front drivers side air bag deployed, causing minor injuries to the contacts hands and face. The police were called and a police report was filed. He also previously received notification of NHTSA campaign id number 10V072000 (service brakes, hydraulic: Pedals and linkages) and stated that the crash was caused by the recall defect. The failure mileage was 17,142 and the current mileage was 27,600. Updated 05/11/10
