After only about 59000 miles my Nissan Quest 2008 3.5L is making loud whining noise from the engine. I am informed by the Nissan dealer were it is being repaired that the timing chain needs to be replaced. This is an issue with many Nissan vehicles and and official recall should be made about this problem with this type of engines. See Nissan technical bulletin from Dec. 14. 2009 with classification: EM07-001C and reference: Ntb07-042C about this very well know issue for all Nissan maxima, Altima, Quest buzzing / whining noise from timing chain area.
Turned on the air conditioning unit and while driving noticed the car start to smoke. Two days later tried turning on again and no smoke but sounds like a belt was rubbing together. Took the vehicle into the Nissan dealership and part #92463-5Z000 pipeeassy and 92471-ze60A pipeassy rear were corroded. Concern is that if this holds antifreeze shouldn't this part which is the hose be rust resistant? this seems to be a big problem but I was told well it's corroded....
