This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Vehicle "jerks" when under load & throttle is applied. Replaced 4 ignition coils, & throttle position sensor. No change in vehicle's performance. Vehicle will also not accelerate over 3000 RPM's. mechanic said I needed to contact Nissan regarding applicable safety recall that was likely the problem, which I did. Nissan said there was no safety recalls applicable to my vehicle. I told mechanic this, & he insists that there most certainly is.
Had stopped vehicle, foot on brake, ready to reverse to paralled park, and vehicle started racing faster and faster. Only way to stop it was to turn off the ignition, after the vehicle lurched forward and was revving up to max RPM. Fortunately I was at end of street, nothing and no one in front of me when it lurched, my foot on the brake didn't stop it. Had to shut motor off.
Intermittently when stopping, vehicle surges forward. Dealer was notified. Consumer states surging happens when applying brakes, the harder the brakes are apllied, the more the vehicle will surge, the rpms also increase, consumer states the only way to stop the sudden acceleration is by releasing the brake pedal.
Was at a full stop with foot on brakes when vehicle accelerated into full throttle. Took vehicle to dealership, and mechanic found nothing on diagnostic machine. Vehicle was also test driven, and nothing was found.
