The engine is not starting. The timing chain and gears and timing advance cam sensor were checked. But they have a problem with the timing gear.

Sentra LX 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200,000 miles

On January 8th, I came out after 5 PM from work and got in my car and it would not start. I had it towed home and then to a local shop. Because it would not start, they refused to work on it after sitting there for about a month.

Then I had it towed to a Nissan dealer in February. They proceeded to replace things that they thought was causing it to not start. My car has been at the dealer since February and guess what? It is still not fixed and they do not know what to do to fix it. IT is worthless. Everything works great, the fuel pump is working fine, the car is firing good, the fuses are all good, the starter is good, but yet the car will not start. Just recently they said they were going to replace the ECU/ECM anyhow if they did, it probably is still not starting, that is why they have not called back yet.

I don't understand how a company can build a car and then when it does not work, they don't know what is making it quit. I love my little Sentra, bragged on all the space it had and how it was like driving a big car with excellent gas mileage. However, I've had to buy a second car, guess what, it was not a Nissan, brought a little Chevrolet. I wish someone would restore my faith in Nissan and find a way to fix my car or offer me something for it. I just got finished paying for it and guess what, won't start. Engine is good too. Just won't start!!!!
