The operator of vehicle #1 was traveling inbound on rutherford ave. When she admitted to the officer "I was distracted...while I was driving", and ran a red light. She struck vehicle #2, then lost control of the car and struck vehicle #3 which was stopped at a red light. None of the 3 vehicles' air bags deployed!
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Sentra. The contac stated that while driving at various speeds, a loud noise emitted outside of the vehicle. The contact drove to a safe location and inspected the vehicle where he noticed that the under carriage rubber body mounts were severely corroded. The vehicle was not safe to drive and had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem whom informed the contact that the service warranty expired. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000. The VIN was unavailable.
