CarComplaints.com Notes: An increasing number of Toyotas are experiencing excessive oil consumption and the 2007 Camry seems to be leading the charge.
Owners are reporting that their engines are deprived of oil halfway through their maintenance schedules and in some cases the damage is so bad that entirely new engines need to be installed, paid out of pocket. The issue may be a result of defective piston rings.
Toyota has issued a TSB for this problem, but maintains their stance that vehicles equipped with a 2AZ-FE engine are burning through a “normal†amount of oil.

When we bought the car my husband wanted leather interior and that included the door panels recovered. We brought it back cause it seemed to not be snapped into place. And they glued it and then the dealership said it was the people who did the leather interiors fault so the car spent the day there and as I drove off the lot I rested my arm on door and it was still not attached, brought it back and since I have given up.
Several trips to the Classic soft trim shop cause that's how the problem started, was there adding the leather trim and they said a very heavy person must drive the car. I called Toyota dealer and it went back and forth several times to find out I needed a new door panel, neither would fix the problem . I felt Toyota sent us to this wonderful interior upgrade shop and they gave us a lifetime guarantee on the leather and work. Yet they wouldn't fix the problem . Only glued it and that didn't last.
The dealership was David Maus and they gave us terrible service from get go .Buying a Honda next time
