Acura is aware of this issue and every 3rd generation TL owner I've talked to or observed the dashboard walking by one in public has this same issue. I am the second owner of this car and I am not sure how well the first person took care of it. But they say dash cracks occur because of the sun but I put a sun visor in my car EVERY DAY, sun, rain, snow, I have a visor up. In the summer I also leave my windows cracked. This is not an issue with the owners of this car, this is a design flaw! Shame on Acura for not fixing it!

My Acura 2007 tl type s has a cracked dashboard. They didn't explain what caused it. I thought the sun caused it, but after reading other claims, it's should be a recall.

Contacted Acura. They will do nothing as the car is over the 50,000 miles and not under warranty. Owned car for less than 6 months and read that this was a prominent issue. Dash crack was originally the size of a check book but has doubled in length spanning over the passenger airbag. Contacted Acura with safety concerns, got a quote from an Acura Certified Inspector as requested from Acura. Over $2,000 to get dash replaced. I will be dealing with the crack but am praying for a recall. Customer service was less than impressive. It took a month to get a response after my jumping through hoops.

I am the 3rd owner of this car which came from FL to MI. Certified inspector noted the crack was not caused by damage.

Bought this car and brand based on high quality and luxury reviews. Paid a lot for a USED car only for this to happen. Not the quality I expected.

Cracked Dashboard that looks like Passenger Airbag is about to break through.

I have approached the Local Dealer, John Eagle Acura 16015 Katy Fwy., Houston, TX 77094-1601, and was told the car was old and I should get rid of it. If an Acura can't withstand the test of time ( 2 year old car at the time of first complaint) they should get out of the car manufacturing business. Of course the Service Techs answer was not what I wanted to hear after spending a large sum of money to purchase this vehicle. Acura knows they used inferior materials. Lexus and Toyota have already replaced the defective dashboards in their cars. Now that I would like to sell the car I am told I can't sell it unless I fix the inferior product with the new parts that Acura is now using.

I guess Acura is not the quality company I thought they were.

TL Type S 3.5L V6

I have made calls about this problem to Acura customer relations in which they replied, "go to the dealer and see if a regional manager would handle the case, and if they would grant me a "good will replacement" in which I would still be responsible for the $600.00 labor costs. Why would anyone pay a penny to fix inferior / defect issues with a car having less than 85,000 miles in which a car has been pampered. I have had older cars under the same weather conditions without these problems with many more miles on them.
