I was driving at night on I-90 East in Washington state, at 60mph when I hit a very small pothole right the front passenger tire, and it deployed the driver's seat airbag, and the driver's side curtain airbag, and locked the seatbelt tight against me. The airbag malfunctioned and hit me very hard disorienting me and barely allowing me to pull over. The airbag malfunction nearly caused me to total the vehicle while I had a passenger in the car with me. No other airbags were deployed.
Dash crack. I bought this car in September. In February I noticed a large crack over the passenger airbag. I contacted Acura with safety concerns and was told they would do nothing about it. The car was parked in my garage when I noted the crack on 2-11-17. The crack started out the size of a personal checkbook and has grown in length. It spans from the windshield to the glovebox. I had the car inspected by a certified Acura inspector and was told the crack was not caused by damage. I reported my estimate of repairs to Acura (over $2000) and was contacted. Acura will not help cover any repairs D/T my car not being under warranty or under 50,000. I bought the car used and it was in pristine condition.
Original owner of vehicle, never wrecked or in any type of accident, reporting the dashboard is visibly cracked on July of 2016 directly on top of the passenger airbag causing a safety issue that could cause premature deployment or possibly failed or no deployment when necessary. This may cause injury or even death if the airbag does not deploy properly
Dashboard is cracked, affecting passanger airbags. Many 3rd gen TL's have this problem, which needs to be fixed please! happens overnight, and worsens. A defect from Acura.

The dashboard on the passenger is cracked. I bought the car brand new. The cracked dashboard my present safety issues if the passenger air bag was to inflate. Now that the dashboard has cracked, the crack will continue to grow, and possibly jeopardize the integrity of airbag, amongst other unknowns dashboards should not be cracking, and they should be engineered to withstand heat. I believe this is a defective dashboard.
Passenger side dashboard has developed a hairline crack, which extended automatically, while parked - without any physical collision. This area is above the airbags area. After several days, another crack appeared in the same area. Concerned about the airbag premature deployment on passenger side either while parked or failure to deploy in case of an accident.
I noticed a crack in my dashboard on the passenger side around the air-bag housing after returning from work. Dealer stated it is merely cosmetic and would cost $1500 to replace. The crack has continued to run further on both sides of air-bag. Also, car has been towed several times because of failure to start after parked overnight. Had battery replaced twice. Finally took it to dealership and was told hands-free module needed to be replaced or removed. Removal cost me $200. Replacement would have cost $800. Also, my fuel cap indicator has been coming on for quite some time when the fuel falls below halfway. I have owned this car for 9 years. I keep the vehicle in good condition. Now with the dashboard cracking its value has decreased immensely not to mention could cause the air-bag to deploy without incident. If that were to happen and cause an accident Honda/Acura would have much bigger issues to contend with. I have contacted Acura corporate and they didn't seem concerned by the issue. Dealership was equally unconcerned. These are issues that require recalls before something tragic happens.
The dash has begun to deteriorate/crack around the airbag housing on the passenger side. Cracks began forming while car was stationary and garaged. Any attempt to fix the growing crack will interfere with proper airbag deployment. This appears to be a common issue with this car - please advise.
While stationary, a hairline crack appeared in the dashboard on the right side of the passenger side airbag. Over the next couple of months the cracks expanded and on all four sides of the airbag, and now the dashboard has large cracks with a wide gap along the length and width of the dashboard. Moisture can get in and do further damage as well as creating the risk of faulty airbag deployment which could lead to injury or death.
My passenger side dash cracked around the airbag. This allows for moisture to get into the airbag compartment which degrades the passenger airbag. Acura refuses to replace. The vehicle was stationary and happened overnight.
The contact owns a 2007 Acura TL. While driving at various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated. In addition, the "air bag system may not function properly, please contact your local dealer'' message was displayed across the message board. The contact previously noticed a fracture on the dashboard near the passenger side air bag. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Updated 1/12/16
In the 4th. Of August 2015, I brought my 2007 Honda Acura to the dealer that sold the vehicle to me to report an unusual pop-up damage to my vehicle dashboard just above the compartment that houses the airbag in front of the passenger seating position. After my service advisor checked the damaged dashboard he returned to me and informed me that it will cost me over $2000 (two thousand dollars) to replace the dashboard and that there is no other remedies. I asked him if the damage can be repaired with glue and he replied that if I do that, that the airbag in the compartment will deploy. At that point I left the dealership because I was can of socked about the information I just hard and as a result I am wondering if Honda company will help to find a solution to this problem as soon as possible because this damage will certainly effect the resale/trade-in value of my car. Thank you very much and looking forward to a reply.
While traveling on a state roadway struck a pothole at about 35-40 mph. The front passenger side tire hit pot hole however the driver side curtain air bags and seat airbags deployed almost causing me to lose control. I was able to maintain control and pull off highway. The seat belt also locked up. The bags deploying did not cause crash or injury however deployment was very loud and cause ear ringing for 48 hours. I was able to drive vehicle home after making police report. Air bag light is lit up on dash.
Initially I observed a airline sized crack on passenger side of the dashboard right on airbag. Slowly it enlarged and now I see another crack around the same area. When I checked online, I found that it's not only me but several others have the same issue with Acura Tls. When I went tithe dealership they say the repair cost is about 2,000 usd.
The dashboard has cracked over the passenger side airbag. The crack is over 12 inches long right above the airbag. This crack will affect the airbag and needs to be fixed. There are thousands of Acura TL's with this same issue. I now recently noticed other cracks throughout the dashboard. Honda needs to take care of their customers if they want continuous business!
Last month we had to take the car to dealer bc it wouldn't start. Battery was drained due to hands free system not turning off even when car was off, so we opted to disconnect system (free) instead of paying 6-800 dollars to repair. Also car is kept in garage during day and last week we noticed large crack running vertically along outer edge of airbag compartment. No reason for this when car is kept clean and out of direct sun. Checked online and found numerous reports of this happening for no reason. I am worried that airbag may not function correctly or may engage without warning if dash is broken. This is not covered and no recall yet. Very disappointed with this bc I love my car.
The dash board cracked on my 2007 Acura TL. The cracks are above the steering wheel and around the passenger airbag. Acura said they will not replace this because the car is out of warranty. This is obviously at no fault or abuse and it is clearly a defect that such a new car has this problem. I have read numerous posts online about this same problem and it should be classified as a manufacturer defect.
